Several industry international experts from Silicon Valley Ventures Growth Partners who will cover the building of company presence, protecting Intellectual Property, and handling the Immigration labyrinths when foreign companies and entrepreneurs move operations to the USA and Silicon Valley. After an initial networking and registration process, Bank of West will introduce the panel. The notable panel will touch on the major topics impacting international presence. Then food and refreshments will be served, during which a raffle will be held for a special prize.

Azmat Malik was a senior executive in marketing and operations at major US, European, and Asian companies in the semiconductor industry. He provides strategy, marketing and operations consulting to early and mid-stage companies in cleantech, electronics, and medical devices. He has advised emerging companies in setting go-to-market strategy, and prepared founders for seed, angel, and growth funding. His focus is in Power Electronics,Cleantech, Medical Devices, Sensors and MEMS. He was Associate Professor at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, teaching MBA courses in marketing. He is active in the angel investor community, focused on energy efficiency, smart grid, electronics thermal management, and medical diagnostics.  He is President of the Engineering Alumni Society of the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Malik was active in the Cleantech Open Accelerator, and has mentored startups which have become commercially successful.  He has MSEE and MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mark Koo also worked as a software technologist at Livermore National Laboratory to facilitate the building of the NiF Laser (world’s largest Laser system). ** Immigration:Ting Ni

Ting Ni received her Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Notre Dame Law School and is licensed to practice in California.  During law school, she served as the Senior Editor of the Notre Dame Journal of International and Comparative Law.  She also competed with both the school’s American Bar Association Arbitration team as well as its Moot Court Trial team in national tournaments.  Ting’s experience in immigration began in 2007, where she worked extensively with clients as a paralegal on employment based visas and immigrant petitions.  She has also served as a Legal Fellow with the International Institute of the Bay Area, concentrating her attention on cases involving immigrant youths.  Additionally, Ting was involved with the Notre Dame Clinical Law Center during her time in law school. There, she spent two years representing various low-income clients in civil litigation matters involving consumer law in Indiana.  Ting is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.  She has lived in China, Australia, United Kingdom, and the United States and is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.
